During the one-hour visit, conducted by Maestro Stefano Nicolao, it will be illustrated the characteristics of the costume designer's job, which differ from those carried out in a normal tailor's shop where period costumes are not created.
Some significant pieces of the collection of original clothes of various centuries, reproductions and remakes from the authentic ones to highlight, will be shown, where the study and research comes from.
You will also be able to appreciate some particular and precious pieces of antique fabric, modern handmade reproductions and reconstructions from authentic period samples and learn how people used to dress up during the Venice Carnival.

The showroom of Nicolao Atelier, is a treasure trove of period costumes, the result of a long historical and philological research of Venetian clothes and costumes, but not only, the showroom allows the Atelier to create exhibitions and parades that tell the story of Venice.
A unique format, to illustrate how the costume in the millennial history of Venice, has influenced the customs and traditions of the various eras past.
The Atelier owns more than 200 authentic pieces ranging from the late '500 to the '60s of the twentieth century, so it offers the possibility to set up exhibitions or original fashion shows of absolute cultural interest, accompanied by iconographies and sketches.
